Russian Grain Buckle Boots, Size 10

These beautiful boots are full of history. They are a recreation of WW2 French paratrooper boots that Mikhail took on for a commission. The leather is sourced from J&FJ Baker, the British tannery’s replica of the legendary Russian Reindeer leather that was recovered from a shipwreck after 200 years under water. This is as close as you can get to the original tanning techniques of those hides. The leather is so saturated with waxes and oils that it develops a gray-ish “bloom” over time that adds to the vintage look. If that is something you don’t care for, a simple brushing will remove it. The tongue is made from a piece of Jamaica Kudu from C.F. Stead, adding a bit of pop to this pair. These are up for sale because sometimes mistakes happen, and Mikhail put the buckles on the inside of the boots rather than the outside.
